====== License Manager Guide ====== The License Manager in designed for managing and monitoring licenses. It helps in keeping track of all the licenses, watch expiration dates, and avoiding any service interruptions due to expired licenses. ===== Navigating ===== In the Pro.Monitor Cockpit, access the **Manage License** by clicking to it on the left menu. ''Note: You must have CRM permissions and the CRM module enabled to access this section.'' ===== Viewing Licenses ===== There are several tabs that allow you to view licenses according to their status: * **All**: This tab displays all licenses * **Followed**: This tab shows licenses from your subscribes companies * **Expiring Soon**: Licenses that are nearing their expiration date, there is special filter on this table * **Only Valid**: This tab show only those that are currently active and valid * **Only Expired**: This tab show only the licenses that have already expired ===== Filtering Licenses ===== The interface provides several filters to help you sort and view licenses according to various criteria: * **Company**: Allows you to filter licenses by company name. It's useful for managing licenses across different clients or departments within your organization. * **Column**: Enables you to filter the displayed licenses by specific columns. For instance, you can filter by 'Product', 'Host Allowed', 'Creation Date', ===== Filtering Licenses ===== The interface provides several filters to help you sort and view licenses according to various criteria: * **Company**: Allows you to filter licenses by company name * **Column**: Allows you to filter by a column based on the filter fields (you can filter by 'Product', 'Host Allowed', 'Creation Date', etc...) * **Expired**: Enables you to view/hide licenses expired * **Inactive Company**: Enables you to view/hidelicenses of inactive company * **Commercial/Trial/Internal **: Enables you to view/hide Commercial, Trial, or Internal licenses Use the checkboxes and dropdown menus at the top of the License Manager to apply these filters ===== Adding a License ===== To add a new license: * Click on the '**+**' button. * Fill in the required details: - **Company(s) Affiliation**: Enter the name of the company or companies the license is affiliated with - **Product**: Select the product from the dropdown menu for which the license is being issued - **Number**: Specify the quantity of licenses - **Mode**: Choose the licensing mode, typically 'Expiration' or 'Perpetual' - **Usage Type**: Indicate whether the license is for Commercial, Trial, or Internal use - **Expiration Date**: Set the date when the license will expire - **Host Allowed**: Enter the IP address or range of IP addresses that are allowed to use the license - **Notes**: Add any relevant notes or comments related to the license * Click **Create** to issue the new license or click on **Multi-Create** to create new license and keep the window with same data ===== Renewing a License ===== * Locating the license you wish to renew. * Clicking on the **Duplicate License Data** button, which appear as 'copy' icon. * On the popup, update the **Expiration Date** and any other details as needed. * Confirm by clicking **Create**, that will create new license with updated info ===== Deleting a License ===== * Select the checkbox next to the license(s) you want to remove. * Click on the **Delete** button, represented by a trash bin icon. * Confirm the deletion in the popup window to remove the license from the system. ===== Retrieving a License Key ===== Every license row has a **Key** icon button that allows you to retrieve the current license key * Click on the **Key** icon corresponding to the license. * Key will be copyed on your paper-clip * You can paste this key to use it on Pro.Monitor or Cockpit ''Note: You can also click on the **Trash** icon of eatch row'' ===== Notes and Tips ===== * Regularly check the expiration dates of licenses and renew as needed to avoid service interruptions * Use the **Host Allowed** field to limit license usage to specific machines, enhancing security * Always add descriptive notes to each license entry to keep track of license purposes and other important details
