Connectors

Defines a way to connect to a system. It usually contains network-related parameters and authentication.
Once defined, the connector will allow to connect to a system using the appropriate API and protocol.
From this menu you will also see and control monitoring settings

Purpose

  • Connect to a system for data collection for monitoring purposes.
  • Visualise and control monitoring settings

Definition

  • The connector definition depends on its type:
Type Description
ABAP Connects to an ABAP stack system via message server or application server.
SAPControl Connects to a SAP system via SAPControl SOAP API
Web connector Connects to the SAP NetWeaver admin portal
HANA Connects to a HANA tenant via JDBC
ORACLE Connects to an ORACLE database via JDBC
SAP ASE (Sybase) Connects to an SAP ASE database via JDBC
MaxDb Connects to a MaxDB database via JDBC or dbcli
DB2 (soon available) Connects to an DB2 database via JDBC
BusinessObjects Connect to a BOBJ CMS and CMC instance

Note: Adding a connector can only be done from the systems menu

Connector state

  • Once created, a connector is set to the OFF state
  • To activate the monitoring, select the connector in the table an press the activate button

Connectors table

  • Filter/Edit connectors
  • Bulk change connectors status
  • Open connector monitoring settings: Click on the connector name to open the list of associated monitors

To click on connector name will open monitoring settings

Monitors list

  • From this screen you can test connector's connectivity with the test connection button.
  • You can list the associated monitors
  • You can assign monitoring profiles
  • You can open and edit monitor settings by clicking on monitor's name
  • You can bulk change monitors states.

Monitor settings

  • Click on a monitor to see its configuration
  • Edit the configuration to customize monitor settings
